How to Create your own home Budget?

Creating a budget may not sound like the most exciting thing in the world to do, but the end result will be able to show where your money is coming from, how much is there and where it is all going. Here are some tips on how to create your own home budget.

1. Record all of your sources of income, and your monthly spending. Try to record for every dollar spent, for the next month or two, think very closely about how your money is spent, write down a list of all the expected expenses you plan on incurring over the course of a month. This includes a mortgage payment, car payments, auto insurance, groceries, salon,eating out, entertainment, dry cleaning, auto insurance, retirement or college savings and essentially everything you spend.

2. Now it's time to create your current family or personal budget. To do this, start by downloading or use free online personal budget, if you use the Excel spreadsheet you'll have to know how to use Excel well enough to tweak the formulas yourself, (If you would like to use a professional budget software package please click here 1o free household budget spreadsheets. About free budgeting spreadsheets, each one of the sheets are designed to be used with Excel, but will more than likely work if you use OpenOffice (basically a free version of Microsoft Office). Some may also work with Google Docs, I had used with some of my imports into Google Docs.

3. Review and revise your budget monthly.
After the first month compare the actual expenses versus what you had created in the budget. It is a real eye-opener! Many of us spend or idea where our money goes. If you are showing a higher expense column than income it means some changes will have to be made.

Creating a budget, you'll find that you'll be able to manage your money.
